Course Overview

The three-year degree program Sustainable Urban Planning (UrbS) aims to revisit urban planning and territorial development through an innovative lens, addressing the ecological and digital transitions currently underway. Its goal is to update the knowledge and skills needed by future generations of urban planners, who will be called upon to tackle the emerging challenges of contemporary land governance.

To achieve this, UrbS aligns with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and explores how to shift the current linear development model toward a circular one. It incorporates environmental issues, societal needs, and the advancement of digitalization into urban and territorial transformation processes.

UrbS students approach the transition as a global challenge, while also understanding that its impacts vary across different places and communities. They learn to value the specificity of local contexts as a key factor in ensuring the effectiveness of the proposed solutions.
